Marcia Smith Olds founded Studio de Danse, where she is director and instructor in 1979. Marcia began her dance training at the age of three at Virgiline Simmons School of Dance in Lansing, Michigan. She studied with Miss Simmons for over 20 years and taught for her for several years. Marcia attended Lansing Community College and Arizona State University before going to London, England for three years of study at the Stella Mann School of Dancing and the Royal Academy of Dancing Method.

Marcia has attained her advanced certification from the Cecchetti Council of America qualifying her as a Fellow Member, which allows her to coach all levels of students and teachers for Cecchetti examinations.

She served on the General Board of the C.C.A. and the board of the Lansing Ballet Co. and as vice-chairman of the Western Michigan Committee of the C.C.A. and is currently the National Librarian for the C.C.A. Marcia has also received her certification in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in ballet and national dance.
